So you heat up some custard, semolina or rice pud for your pudding, add a wee drop of milk and then do you get a spoon of jam for the middle?

AnnieK 09-11-2019 01:40 PM

Always in rice pudding and semolina (not had either for years though). Never in custard though

LeatherTrumpet 09-11-2019 01:42 PM

I see the whole Ambrosia range as one family that can accomodate jam.

Nicky91 09-11-2019 01:45 PM

no

i more put fruit flavoured sprinkles on yoghurt, or lemonade (usually orange flavour, or raspberry) in yoghurt instead of sugar

we got a dutch treat called ''vla-flip'' which yoghurt, vanilla, lemonade :D

Cherie 09-11-2019 02:08 PM

Not in custard, I too have called the police :oh:

I don't really eat the other two much either

Toy Soldier 09-11-2019 02:13 PM

Custard? REALLY. The ban was nowhere near long enough.

Now we know why LT and Nocky are best pals

LeatherTrumpet 09-11-2019 02:26 PM

Lemondade would seperate out in the Yoghurt, that is rancid and has no place in my child-friendly thread about wholesome custard :umm2:

Liam- 09-11-2019 02:30 PM

Semolina is rancid, not a big fan of rice pudding either, but if I have it, I always put a bit of lemon curd in it

Custard doesn’t deserve the disrespect of adding something to it!

As a teenager I dared someone to mix their Smirnoff Ice with their Bailey's Irish Cream and then drink it, and the resulting slop made ME feel sick just looking at it. He drank it though. D:

what

it's not the lemonade you think of probably, i mean the kind of lemonade you normally mix with water (not made out of lemons)

and vla-flip is a thing here

https://lekkertafelen.nl/wp-content/...06/vlaflip.jpg

this one is with fruit sauce not ''ranja'' or ''lemonade''

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/bf/43...27ab35e38c.jpg

and this is vla-flip with the ''lemonade, ranja''

The only thing I’ll ever add to custard is a spoonful of Nutella and that’s if we have a cheap custard that’s a bit more bland

Ahh like lemonade powder, we had to get that once because my daughter was trying to make "Blue Dog Soda" from Sam & Cat, and someone had put a "recipe" online. It was horrific. But the lemonade powder with water was actually alright . It's not a very common thing to have / use in the UK though, I'd never seen or tasted it before.

it is liquid though, but if you drink it pure, well you get sick of it being too sweet and too pure lemonade, that is why you gotta thin it with water, or put it in yoghurt :)

smudgie 09-11-2019 03:07 PM

Spoonful of jam in your porridge is lush.

Strictly Jake 09-11-2019 03:25 PM

I can't eat rice pudding without jam

Oliver_W 09-11-2019 03:27 PM

I just drink custard from the pot tbh

LeatherTrumpet 09-11-2019 03:29 PM

i bet there are folks who eat mince pies dry, without cream? :umm2:

Nicky91 09-11-2019 03:37 PM

better try rice pudding with jam once then

i usually put sugar on it

we also got a ''oatmeal pudding'' we call ''havermoutpap'' better known as a ''sticky pudding'' usually goes with sugar, or a alternative sugar addition can be honey :D
