Denver 28-11-2019 04:14 PM

Ellen, The Late Late Show with James Corden (purely for games and segments), Graham Norton Show

LeatherTrumpet 28-11-2019 04:16 PM

talk shows are awful pr fake guff and i bet the American ones are even worse

the last good one was Parky. Norton is our best for humour but not for much else.

Bring back Tamar!

Conan is the only one I've ever liked (watching highlights of it on youtube). Never been much of a talk show person/fan.

Dick Cavett was a classic talk show host

this is how its should be done, listening, empathising, allowing the guest to speak

Graham!!

Also loved the alan carr one. Why they axed it I have no idea

Marsh. 28-11-2019 07:27 PM

Graham Norton but I preferred him on channel 4 or BBC Two when he would get celebs who didn't often give interviews or get normally closed off ones to open up and have a laugh.

I mean, he's still good at that, but the guest list is 80% of the time more predictable now he has Jonathan Ross' old slot. He has to have the latest movie stars, instead of getting people a little more from left field.

Graham Norton can be a scream though - never would you normally see, for example, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nadiya Hussain on the same couch and that’s part of its charm I guess.

The View

Auntie Joy an Sunny make the best television

TeenAngel15 28-11-2019 07:33 PM

Agreed with Wendy Williams. I also like catching up on The View. Graham Norton is also quite good.

Oh definitely, he's still good value. I just wish he wasn't forced into having the pimp slot. He could do anything when he was doing his own thing on BBC Two.

Also, I really like Ellen but find her show unwatchable. It's basically 5 mins chat, 10 mins advert, 5 mins screaming audience, 10 mins advert, 5 mins random game, 10 mins advert, 5 mins more chat, 10 mins advert, 2 mins ending.

In terms of U.S. late night talk shows, Conan, Colbert and Seth Meyers are probably the best (Hasan Minhaj as well; his isn't a late night show but it's in a similar vein)

None of them compare to Craig Ferguson though

Now all America needs to do is let a woman host a late night show that isn't on TBS or at 1.30 in the morning!

MB. 28-11-2019 07:42 PM

Calderyon 28-11-2019 07:44 PM
