Ruiz v Joshua..

The champion Ruiz, a Mexican who won the belts fair and square from Joshua in the last fight. A fight the Ruiz was a late replacement for someone else..

The rematch is being held in Saudi Arabia. ..the beheading capital of the world. ..a Mexican fighter, with the background and easily available video footage of Mexico beheading videos....

Seems strange to me...

So my question is, why would a world champion from Mexico find it easy to stage a match in Saudi Arabia when it's never happened before.

I was going to say I hope AJ wins but I think Ruiz will but that isn't the question? What are you asking exactly? Is it ethical to fight in Saudi Arabia?

I think it's how come a Mexican fighter can just randomly set up a fight in Saudi Arabia. ..obviously they spent the cash...but it's obviously been sanctioned by a wave of the hand..

2 powerful cash countries...best pals all of a sudden..That's basically it.

thesheriff443 05-12-2019 09:53 PM

He never set up anything it was down a rematch clause written into the first fight , he didn’t want to go there, but was given reassurances and more money.

Niamh. 05-12-2019 10:36 PM

Yeah agree with Sheriff, Ruiz set up nothing, Eddie Hearn did, lots of Dolla's in Saudi

parmnion 05-12-2019 10:45 PM

Why Saudi though?

Mexico/saudi/Britain. .

It's wierd..

I get that, and it is the probable outcome..

But from another angle..Eddie hearn. .a wee laddie that used to rack up snooker balls..can set up a fight in Saudi Arabia for the opponent of his fighter (important)

Ruiz signed a contract when he was given the opportunity to fight Joshua in that contract there was clauses that he would have to give aj a rematch how much money he would get and the venue.

Eddie Hearn is an agent, he was approached by Saudi Arabia who no doubt put a multi million pound offer on the table.

Tyson and Ali say otherwise.

Its in that horrid part of the world due to money and I would love it is the little fat man batters AJ

Niamh. 06-12-2019 08:42 AM

There was talk of Katie Taylor fighting on the undercard and people were getting annoyed about it because they were saying, as a woman she shouldn't fight in a country where women's rights are so low. It was only a rumour though anyway and she isn't fighting there

With her being a woman would Saudi Arabia allow her to do Boxing in their country anyway?

Well Arista reckons they allowed WWE women to fight there so probably, all about the money

thesheriff443 06-12-2019 09:29 AM

A third of weapons sold by Britain, 12 billion pounds were sold to states on Britain’s watch list for having the worst human rights record.

It’s purley about money and power.

Livia 06-12-2019 09:34 AM

The cash that's been poured in to get sport to Saudi. Money definitely does talk.

Zizu 06-12-2019 11:38 AM

I don’t understand why Ruiz ( the champion holding the belts ) gets £10 million whilst the challenger ( loser ) Joshua picks up £45 million !?!

Makes no sense ..
