2020 BRIT Awards (Dave, Billie & Tyler win x) [8PM ITV - 18th Feb]

You love to see it. Aside from the one category (British single) where the nominees are just the 10 most successful British singles, Ed Sheeran has been completely left out from Album/Male  Officially less important than Michael Kiwanuka. We'll overlook 'Magdalene' being left out of the album in favour of Harry Styles.

shocked Ed Sheeran didn't get a nom for album or male but he wasn't going to win not with Lewis Capaldi nominated. I remember two years ago Stormzy won best male and album over Ed Sheeran, hope he can do the same this year and win over Lewis.

Screaming at Little Mix stans screaming sexism as well when they've not had a good song since 2016 <3

Love Little Mix but i don't know why the fans were expecting them to be nominated since they haven't really released anything. They would have been nominated if we had an album from them last year but they didn't do one, bounce wasn't enough.

RileyH 11-01-2020 08:52 PM

Mabel, Dave & Ari better snatch

I'd love for Dave to do to Lewis what Stormzy did to Ed, but I can't see Lewis only winning one or two awards. They might give Dave album and Lewis Best Male, but I can see Lewis winning everything he's nominated for

Pretty meh bunch overall outside of the female noms, although even then I fear Freya may take British female

Ammi 12-01-2020 06:52 AM

..Lewis Capaldi is a new artist..?...

Shaun 12-01-2020 06:56 AM

Think they interpret that category as anyone who released a debut album this year. Dave and Mabel in particular had hits in previous years but no album, until 2019.

I was gonna say I feel like Mabel has been around for ages

Amy Jade 12-01-2020 09:07 AM

Before anyone starts because I am a Little Mix stan, I understand them not getting a nomination - LM5 was 2018 and Bounce Back and TOIBM weren't bangers.

That being said...how blah are most of these nomination line ups? International Female is the only one I have any interest in, if there is no good performances I won't bother watching this year and I have watched every single Brits for at least the last 10 years.

Aye. Mediocre bores dominating the music scene is just what we need.

She was nominated for Best New Artist last year too (when it was called Breakthrough Act)

Jordan. 12-01-2020 12:22 PM

All male soloists for best album and no international group was a choice. I don't hate these noms on a whole though.

I don’t really get where they were going with no international group.
