...it starts tonight, then...?..the actors who play Chantelle and Gray were ‘looking back at’ with Stacey Dooley a few days ago...and it’s so easy to see the impact of playing a storyline such as domestic abuse would have on someone...they appeared quite shaken, watching on the screen even though they’d played it...have we ever had a domestic abuse storyline on EE before when the victim was killed by the abuser..?...I’m not sure that we have...

Amy Jade 07-09-2020 07:06 AM

I think the only other domestic abuse storyline that was fatal was Trevor and Little Mo and the abused killed the abuser in that storyline.

...wasn’t there once an abuse storyline with Denise as well, Amy...?...

Vanessa 07-09-2020 11:34 AM

She didn't. He survived the iron incident.

He later tried to kill them both in a botched murder/suicide by setting fire to the Slater house but Little Mo was saved and he died. Alongside Sharon's boyfriend who saved Little Mo's life.

There was my dear Ammi. :D

Owen who tried to kill his daughter Libby after Denise escaped his abuse. He was killed by her second husband Lucas, who was a serial killer. :joker:

...I didn’t realise that the Chantelle/Gray storyline would hit so straight away...that was so terrifying to watch last night../so upsetting...I mean, really so well done to both actors, must be one of the most difficult storylines to be involved in ...

arista 09-09-2020 07:19 AM

10mins cut off
so only 20mins per episode.

Ammi 09-09-2020 07:27 AM

...I thought it was me when I was going crazy at 8pm, thinking ...why has EE not started yet, what’s happening......it’s been so long since we had it that I have to sit by my TV, excitedly waiting for it...

...is it Marsh’s fault../..the 20 minute thing...?...

Marsh. 09-09-2020 09:26 AM

:smug:

Bit annoyed they're dragging this Ian thing out. But at least we know he disappears soon. :fc:

Apparently the actor is going on a 10 week break soon so I'm sensing a "Who Put Ian in a Coma?" type storyline as he makes enemies of everyone.

Jake. 09-09-2020 09:48 AM

Eastenders definitely feels a bit ‘darker’, idk if that’s just me though

I also think the way they’ve approached filming with covid regulations etc. is pretty well done

Jake. 09-09-2020 09:49 AM

I think I’ve enjoyed the last couple of episodes because of the smaller cast, EE feels better when it’s stripped back

Marsh. 09-09-2020 10:15 AM

The second episode felt more like a normal episode. The first one was quite weird.

Vanessa 09-09-2020 10:24 AM

Im enjoying the show being back. And I love PC Callum already

Amy Jade 11-09-2020 07:40 PM

Ben and Callum's storyline is the weakest aspect of the shows return.

...now that his love has been rejected....do you think he might go for a 10 week Buddhist break in the Himalayas or something...?...

The weird middle aged women who are seemingly obsessed with them can go rot

Vanessa 12-09-2020 10:27 AM

Really enjoyed last night show.
The Panesars are great, they're giving me Mitchells vibe.
