Don’t know as a child but I once cracked open a Brazil from its shell put in my mouth and began to chew it

It had gone bad for some reason I can easily say the taste was rancid and even after washing my mouth out several times I could still taste it.

when i found out that tongue was really tongue, my face was a picture :laugh:

And my Grandmother used to adminster Castor Oil after we had been ill ...jeez that was vile

I honestly had no idea until I saw a photo of an actual tongue on the side of a tin many years later !


I remember my mum buying all our meat from the butchers and getting it home wrapped in white paper

Worm powder...my mother was obsessed with us catching worms.

Lambs hearts...

I did get my mouth washed out with carbolic soap for swearing and that tasted not good

My 12 year old cousin was forced to eat his cigarettes as punishment for getting caught smoking !!

About 50 years ago .. different times as they say
