I could get fired tomorrow but they can't then say "And we're not paying you for this month either!" ... they have to pay for the work that's been done, no matter the reasons for firing. It obviously seems much worse because of the insane sums of money involved, but it's a bit of a slippery slope to make it legal to not pay someone after you fire them.

I get what you’re saying and I know nothing can be done, but it’s gross that he was even hired in the first place
