I think on the whole of it (obviously latter-seasons Monica is a nightmare) the worst character for me is probably Joey. Just a bit one-note, sleazy, and the laziest source of comedy on the show. The others all had some degree of intelligence of about them, whether it was Chandler's sarcasm, Ross' work problems, Phoebe's eccentricities, Monica's neuroses and struggle to be the voice of reason, or Rachel's Rich Girl Problems
