I honestly think they track by IP these days as well as browser history, because I bought a new network switch the other day (I've been flirting with which one to buy for months, haha) and my wife was like "Oh good, now that you've actually bought one they might stop spamming my phone with ads for them!". So someone knew I was teasing Amazon with a purchase and started sending ads to every device in our house
