Yeah, the phone industry in particular could do with slowing down although it never will, like with the fashion industry, it encourages disposable products that have an adverse effect on the environment.

The gaming industry is a good example of how to do things, I feel. Each generation is getting longer and consoles don't tend to get disposed of because of a collector culture that turns every console and game into a collectable. I doubt there's many older consoles (that aren't completely broken) that are sitting in landfills.
