We could/should but it's fairly well understood that post-Brexit, trade with the US will increase (to be fair, it's been increasing year-on-year for decades anyway) and trade with closer countries will decrease... and all of that transatlantic trade is far from environmentally friendly. This isn't just a Brexit poke - it really is quite relevant. Increased trade with Commonwealth nations has also been suggested as a positive for the UK after Brexit... but again, environmentally not great at all, given the distances to many of the commonwealth nations.
