Seems like you think the ‘slobbering public’, as you disdainfully call them, all go by what are often sensational headlines on the front of papers and never open one.
Inside papers like the Express, Times, DM, Telegraph for example, there are articles written by reliable sources that have known the royals for years and whose job it is to ferret out the truth from the nonsense. Many of these Royal experts, correspondents and royal reporters have known Harry since he was a little boy, have accompanied him on tours all over the world, have drank with him at the end of the day in bars, when he let his hair down.
There are his Royal biographers like Penny Junor who have interviewed him in depth and have been allowed to follow him in his work for months on end. Or Richard Kay, who became a close friend of Diana and the boys. More…...Angela Levin, Dickie Arbiter, Jennie Bond, Ingrid Seward, Hugo VIckers etc.

These sources also do TV interviews and take part in documentaries. They are the ones who get inside info and they can’t outright lie or they would be out of a job.
They don't 'slam' Meghan, they comment on what they have seen and have been told in a reasoned way. Their info and opinions are worth a read to anyone interested. At the end of the day, they have been able to learn more than you or I.
I would like to think I’m not so supercilious as to think the ‘slobbering public’ en masse can’t tell the difference between senseless tabloid fodder and articles with merit.
