Here's some conspiracy fuel for your fire then Alf; what if it was set up, but Chris Rock wasn't in on it? They needed his reaction to be genuine, so they told him to make the joke but not what would happen. Catch his genuine shock at it happening to make it convincing. Then afterwards they inform him of the full plan and that he isn't to press charges.
