Default 2024 Winter Transfer Window

rumours:

Quote:
The January 2024 transfer window, which opens in just over a fortnight, is set to provide us with many more expensive transfers.

Chelsea and Arsenal are in the market for a top-class centre forward and the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Lois Openda have all been shortlisted by both teams.

Man Utd are looking to bring in at least four new players in January; a right winger, a centre back, a defensive midfielder and a number eight, as per reports.

They also could offload a number of players, with Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek transfer listed, while Casemiro and Raphael Varane's futures are up in the air. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to take over a minority stake in the club and he will be in charge of transfer policy. The biggest question is whether Ratcliffe will sack manager Erik ten Hag.

Tottenham need more depth in their squad and will likely sign an attacking winger at the very least. Newcastle, meanwhile, have an injury crisis and may bring more bodies in. A centre midfielder to replace the suspended Sandro Tonali is a necessity. Further down the table teams are looking to buy in order to avoid relegation.

Other Premier League players are looking for regular playing time ahead of Euro 2024. These include Man City's Kalvin Phillips and Tottenham's Eric Dier.

The first confirmed transfer of January 2024 saw Brighton sign 18-year-old Romanian winger Adrian Mazilu from Farul Constanta for €3 million. It was completed a few months before the winter window opened as Mazilu was allowed to finish 2023 with the Romanian team.
