Agree with you Ruth - fickle Louis! Did you see him squirm when Simon invited Girls Aloud to sing next week!!?
I believe the song choice does matter, because it controls the vocals that the contestant is able to showcase, and if the song is of poor quality, ill-suited to the act or doesn't show much range then the act is at a disadvantage because of this IMO
