Ahh he was a bit like marmite. You love him or loathe him. The majority of people did like him, especially after putting Marcus in his place. But Marcus fans couldn't accept that and also hated on him 
The house is different without him IMO, he caused a lot of problems. He could have won easily.

It was the Noirin and Marcus show.
Most Marcus fans did dislike him though, and tbh Marcus was the one who pushed Tom to walk.
Even though Tom has said on BBBM he regrets walking now...
