It'd make them hypocritical because it'd still happen but they wouldn't complain as they got the result they wanted. Just because it'd a popular result wouldn't mean the same type of manipulating wouldn't take place. That's why it's hypocrtical, you can't hate the system when you don't get your own way but celebrate it when you do regardless of circumstances.
