Making such claims undermines the main achievement for which we remember him by and debases his memory by calling him a liar and a fraud, the antithesis of the truth.

Neil never claimed to be a hero and always gave credit to the many others working at Mission Control. After he left NASA he went into quietly teaching aerospace engineering. A truly great man who preferred the quiet life rather than the razzmatazz of the fleetingness of fame and celebratory.
We will not see the likes of his kind again.
