Josie Cunningham still wants to take part in Big Brother after making an abortion U-turn.
So-called ‘model’ Josie hit the headlines at the weekend after revealing she was considering having an abortion in order to appear on Celebrity Big Brother after an offer from producers.
“Channel 5 were keen to shortlist me then they found out I was pregnant,” she claimed. “Then they suddenly turned cold. That was when I started considering an abortion. After the operation I will be going back to them and asking if they will still consider me.”
But according to The Sun newspaper last week, TV bosses won’t be wanting to deal with it all.
“Josie is deluded if she thinks this will improve her chances of signing up, which were slim to non-existent to start with,” a source told the newspaper. “How can we work with her — or pay her — if she admits having an abortion to achieve that? It would be a minefield.”
However now Josie has gone back on her decision to get rid of her baby, saying: “I just couldn’t do it. I really thought I would be able to but I couldn’t. I’d felt the baby kick for the first time 24 hours earlier and I couldn’t get that feeling out of my head.”
The mum of two now hopes she can continue to take part in BB next year, adding: “I will still do it – for me and all three of my children.
“I have spoken with Big Brother and we have agreed that going on this series is out of the question if I have the baby.”
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Josie continued: “But I have four endorsement deals in the pipeline including one for a dating site and there are other TV opportunities coming in too.
“I’ll still do whatever it takes to achieve my goal and being a mum isn’t going to get in my way.”
Big Brother airs this summer on Channel 5.
