I really think that the media need to ignore them for the most part. They thrive on the negative attention and publicity. If nobody bothered with them, there would be no point in their shenanigans.

Hahaha I see how you could've misunderstood me. I used to go to Vassar, which is basically the most liberal school of liberal schools in the United States, so the Westboro Baptist Church members came to protest at our school one day with banners such as "Fags will go to hell" and whatnot. My school responded to it extremely well though. We had a 'Love March' thing, where everyone held hands across campus in unity. And then couples (Male/Male or Female/Female) went near the gates and made out in front of the Church members!
