If you're only getting it for school and you need to be compatible with the things you need for school then get a macbook.
If you want to use it for various things such as games etc.. and you want to use it when you finish your diploma then I would be against getting anything but Windows to be honest.
Only you know what's best for you, if you put aside your ideas about the brand etc.. and just think about functionality and what you personally need it shouldn't be a hard decision.
Personally, I would never get a macbook because I could build a high powered gaming PC that would last years for the price of one macbook.
