The Lyrics
Worm Oddity
I’m pushing out onto the ground
Out from the depth onto the ground
Our long winter’s end has brought me safe and sound
Oh look here there is a leaf
A little mouldy, but what a relief
It’s been so long since I’ve had a bite to eat
(liftoff)
My the wind is brisk, what is that sound
I’m pulling from the ground
And I can’t hold onto my food anymore
Oh gods I’m in the air look at me soar
My the wind is fast, I’m turning round
The spinning, no control
Getting higher to the sky, upward I race
If this keeps up I’ll be the first worm in space
Wait, now the wind is slowly dying
Ahhhhhh, don’t look down
I just noticed
All the other worms around
(Musical interlude)
Dear Norse gods I’m crashing to the earth
There’s no way I’ll survive
And I think of all my earthworm family
This surely ends our ancestral tree
Earthworms flying, falling now
All from the sky unto the ground
Can you save us now Odin
Can you save us all Oh Thor
Can you save us please Loki
Can …
Wait, why’m I lying in this snowbank
Chilled and yet alive
And I see
All the other worms with me
(Musical Ending)
