He's 68 and whatever happened in his past (we don't really know what he's referring to or how bad he was), he's moved on from it and has been able to better himself and that shows massive strength of character. Too many people stay on the wrong path and spiral downwards, but I do think people can reform. So it's not judging him on who he is now, whereas with Spencer, people are judging him on who he is now, so it's a very different comparison (although personally I love Spencer and his comments about James didn't offend me). It'd be different if I thought James was actually threatening them or being serious but it didn't come across like he was to me.
