Just came back from watching this at the cinema. I definitely agree with you, Josy - the the first one is iconic in its own right (I watched it yesterday to get myself in the mood), but the sequel is still enjoyable nonetheless. Very different though, and not exactly what I was expecting.

I got emotional during the scene where they were at the pub with the protestants, since my whole family have been raised as protestants and we're a Rangers-supporting household. My Grandad's funeral song was Penny Arcade, so that was sad but nice.
The ending with Spud's stories was really lovely, and I liked Gail's line: "I've got a name for it."
I was happy Veronica left with the money too, and that Renton and Sickboy lived happily ever after
Yeah, but seriously, I don't mean to sound like a fourteen year old girl but they would make a good couple. I kept thinking that Sickboy looked so good-looking throughout the film.
I loved the teases of Lust for Life and Born Slippy too. The very end was so poetic.
