The worrying thing seems to be that this has simply caught on as a method of attack. Of course when it's not an accident it's always "terrorism" in the broadest sense of the word... but it's certainly not confined to one group and doesn't seem to even necessarily involve ANY ideologies. It seems like (somehow) in 100 years of motor vehicles, people en masse hadn't realised that 2+ tonnes of metal travelling at speed makes a very effective weapon, and now they suddenly have and people are increasingly using that weapon. It's scary, methods of attacks have devolved in such a way that it makes it more difficult to track. Law enforcement agencies can track the sales of weapons and suspicious materials that can be used in bombs but what can they do if someone decides to get into a car and drive through a crowd?
