Why are women 'cheap' and 'tacky' for wearing 'too much' make up though? I always find it so disheartening when women want to denigrate other women like that, just for merely choosing to look and dress how they feel comfortable.

The word 'chav' was created to almost exclusively chastise working class people and imply that their social status is a result of their own moral failings rather than structural and social inequality, it is a convenient caricature that has been peddled by the media for well over a decade and ingrained it within most people's lexicon. Whether you or others use it to describe middle class people is neither here nor there, because it's meaning relates to a negative archetype of a working class person
