You don't feel the need to talk about your sexuality because heterosexuality is universally accepted, no heterosexual person has ever had to fight for equal rights as a heterosexual. The problem here is you can't empathise with circumstances outside of your own.
You think gay people don't need to talk about their sexuality because you don't have to as a heterosexual but the thing is, if an LGBT person stays quiet about the injustices they face then those injustices keep happening. Your discomfort doesn't really matter much when you match it against raising awareness of issues that plague the gay community.
