But the gist is that drag is meant to be an exeggeration of various iconic female looks (e.g diva, 50s housewife, disco queen, 60's chick, etc etc).
Over time it diversified and now drag queens adopt different takes on it. E.g. some go for a relatively slight exeggeration like Courtney or RuPaul, others go the traditional route and look like a caricature of a woman like Bianca Del Rio. And there are some that go completely off the beaten track and look more like aliens.

And no, they don't think women are trashy. The opposite, they adore women. They support women's rights and are in awe of women generally.

Slight exaggeration like having his genitalia up his wotsits covered in tape, wearing no underwear and deliberately showing it to the viewing public.
