I loved the opening scene with Myrtle, it's probably the first time this season that they actually got her dialogue right and Marie's cameo was fun but the whole storyline with Adina was rushed as hell tbh, the whole episode was really but I'm willing to forgive that because it was a fun episode.

I'm glad we got to see Jessica Lange again although I'm slightly confused as to why tha

t scene with Micheal played out differently since she didn't kick him out the first time around. The way Mallory dispatched him made me howl tbh.

The biggest problem with the episode was the epilogue scenes, firstly it took me a solid three minutes before I remembered who the characters were and secondly, it made no sense to have them of all people bring forth another devil child since they established that Micheal was the antichrist BECAUSE he was the result of conception between a ghost and a human. Like with the massive mistake with Myrtle's timeline earlier in the season, the writers have forgotten their own lore here and it just felt like a really meh way to end the season. If they wanted to end it on another antichrist being born, they should have ended it with Mallory and the witches at the door instead of the satanists.

I think, having watched the series as a whole, it's a heaving mess that could have easily been fixed with just a touch of editing. It wouldn't surprise me if someone ends up creating a fan edit which cuts down the first three episodes into one and puts the series into chronological order whilst fixing the timeline errors. That alone would fix the weird ass pacing. Start off where the flashbacks begin, have the bunker episodes (in this case, episode) happen as the penultimate episode and then shave the epilogue off the last episode and there you'd have a solid 7/10 season.

I think having bunker episodes with the characters under the "identity" spell wouldn't even work towards the end of the season as it's still just time filling for the sake of it.

There was no reason to spend any substantial time in the bunker with those people at all, they don't add to the story, they don't do anything interesting or of note. Just shows how they don't plan out a season and just make it as they go, which really hurts the plotting and the pacing.

They only worked kind of as they did because we didn't know anything about what was going on, the mystery around Venable and the co-operative. Having it come at the end, even if only edited into one episode, we know who they all are and what everything is so the purpose of it becomes obsolete.

I’ve been trying to catch up and watch this entire season. It’s just so awful. There’s literally no plot, the first half of the season is pointless. There’s episodes of flashback episodes in a row purely for nostalgia yet it is actually pointless. It’s shoddy. The acting and script is super cringe with how people speak.

It could be worse than freak show and be the worst season yet??? The writing and plot is just so awful. Whenever something does happen or a plot does develop it gets reversed by just bringing a character straight back to life in the next episode.

Just finished episode 7 and think I will stop as it’s been a chore. Worst season ever I think

Asylum > Murder House > Roanoake >>> Hotel/Coven/Cult > Freakshow > Apocalpse

Cult is similar to this season in the sense the plot was a mess that was likely made up as they went along. But this season was boring AND the plot was a complete mess. Also half the episodes were factually filler/pointless episodes serving ZERO purpose. The same cant be said for Cult. Cult was entertaining at least and had a very basic plot. Hotel had a good second half which saved it. Coven was pretty basic throughout and the change from Murder House/Asylum really showed and I didn't like it. This is why these 3 are all tied for me as it depends on what mood I'm in on which one I prefer.

Freak Show was completely dull and was like watching paint dry. It had a good plot and could have been great, but it ended up being a bad soap with little interesting things happening all season. Took me three attempts to finish. The acting was great also, it was just the prosectuion that was terrible ruining what could have been a brilliant season.

Apocalypse is completely unwwatchable dribble, it's easily the worst I think

Cult was pretentious dog**** with no redeeming qualities, it's the closest I've ever come to giving up on a season of AHS and so for me, it is by far the worst.

Apocalypse was bad but I was never really gonna give up on it, the same can't be said for Cult and it's pretentious allegories and noticeably piss poor writing.

Fair opinion. I'd still argue the writing in this season was worse, I cringed multiple times each episode with the script. They ruined Jessica Lange's return by giving her all these gimmicky catchphrases Constance would never say just to appease camp gay fans. Same with Myrtle, among most of the witches. I'm giving up on this season and so it'll be the only season I've never finished.

I might give up on the show tbh. The last season was just SO awful that I don't like where they are going with the show..
