Default Keloid scars

Does anybody here have these? I have a couple (thankfully both underneath my clothes rather than around my face area) and I had no idea what they were for years until I finally got a biopsy done. Just was curious about any other experiences. I was thinking of looking into treatments to reduce the pain and irritation and maybe size reduction if possible (although mine are relatively smaller compared to some of the huge ones I've seen pictures of).

It's made me really paranoid about getting as much as a scratch now since that can turn into one

I don't personally but I know someone who got keloid scars from a tattoo, he had to have his arm taped up with steroids for ages to make the scarring come down.

I wanted a tattoo for a while before my scars were diagnosed, which firmly put me off the idea

I'd never heard of steroid tape (but it seems to be a common treatment when looking it up), I've looked into the injections though.

Yeah I've got a nerve condition which makes keloid scars more likely to form. I've got them in the sites of two fairly recent operations - heart procedure from last year, tumour removal from the year before.

I have a small one on my ear from a dodgy piercing I had, an Industrial or Scaffold piercing. Very common with them apparently but I didn't know at the time...

Did seek Doctor's advice but he said if they got rid of it there's 50% chance it could come back bigger with it being a scar so I just left it, doesn't bother me.

I don't have any others and have one and a half full sleeves of tattoos with no scarring so I must have just been unlucky with the piercing!
