People keep saying a Sunday
CBB7 began on A Sunday and did very well but I dont know I just dont want BB11 to begin on a Sunday. Sundays are the most boring day of the week. I think Friday would be better, the entire week leading up to it would be epic and would be filled with news and gossip. Saturday would be great but then people do go out on Saturday so the ratings would be low. People keep saying for High Ratings go for a Sunday, but why not a Thursday then? Also what month would you like it to launch? Late May or Early June? Late May usually means the show ends around August, Recently its been finishing in September which isnt as good as it finishing in Summer. Im hoping for a Thursday or Friday launch tbh.

I think a Sunday launch would serve BB11 better. CBB7 did ok with a Sunday launch.
I want the best possible start to this series. |

Mid-May like BB7 would be perfect, but back then there wasn't BGT to compete with.
Preferably I'd pick a Friday, or Thursday. But if we want good ratings, then we're gonna have to put up with a Sunday in the first week of June. |

Sunday.
Assuming Britain's Got Talent ends on a Saturday, it needs to start on the Sunday right after to give it as big a head start on the World Cup as possible. |

Will BB11 and football clash alot? If so then BB11 is doomed.

Clever thinking.. so BGT final will be on Saturday 29th May? Yeah Sunday 30th May will be the best time for Big Brother 11 start. PLUS it is apparently a bank holiday on Monday 31st May! Mmm this could then be a bad thing.. people may go out on the Sunday night if bank holiday next day..

I think Sunday 30th May would be the best day for launch.. if people will stop in and watch it and just go out partying AFTER BB. lol or maybe have it on Thursday 3rd June? I know Thursday launches get better ratings than Friday's? but not sure if there is much difference?

Actually, assuming it follows the same pattern as last year (seven audition shows followed by a week of live shows), it'll end on Saturday 5th June.
BB would therefore have five days in which to launch before the World Cup begins on June 11th - and, assuming C4 are smart enough, they'll launch it on the first free day - Sunday June 6th. Of course, if BGT lasts a week less then BB has a bigger window in which to launch - but that's unlikely in the current financial climate. Last edited by Matt; 11-04-2010 at 07:20 PM. |

The time difference between UK and SA is 1 hour, isn't it?
So if it's 1pm here it's 2pm there And most of the big matches will be played at about 7:30pm in SA, so shown at 6:30pm here So they'll end before 10pm UK time And if C4 have any sense they'll air BB at 10pm on the nights where there are big World Cup matches So it shouldn't be too much of an issue...

Most shows have been moved to the 10pm slot,
Early June & Sunday, you still get the weeks build up, plus high ratings for the first week Launching on a friday = poor ratings

I got worried there, I hate when football messes up TV Schedualing I hope BB11 doesnt jump from 10 to 9 to 9 to 10 to 10 to 8 and from 8 to 9 again like it did in CBB. 8 is a crap time for it and it was all thanks to C4s pointless indian movies. But I dont have much a problem for 10 or 9 though.

I would love a friday launch
This would probably be bad news in terms of ratings (going by the above posts) but if that wasn't an issue then I would love to see BB11 launch on a friday. It would just feel right, and the weekend would be there for that little "settle in" period, the first couple of days where BB feels a bit weird and different and takes getting used to. By the monday we'd have gotten into it I hate it when BB is on at 10. 9 is the perfect slot. But I suppose with the world cup and all... Dammit football! Ruins everything |

Also if launches on A Sunday we would not get to watch Live Feed in the day due to Work or School where as if it was a Friday we would have Friday and Saturday night to watch them on Live.
And all weekend to watch Day Time LF. But unfortunatly it wont be Friday

You said Sunday is a boring day, thats why it should launch on a sunday. I mean CBB7 launched with the highest figures since CBB5. BB8 got 6.2m, CBB6 was 6.1m i think and BB9 and BB10 were below 6m. CBB7 got 6.7m officially.
It proves that a Sunday launch works best, most people would be out on Friday and even Thursday (thats student night mostly). Sunday, who does things on a Sunday night really? Like now... not doing much are we. |

It's a bank holiday on Monday 31st May! so Sunday 30th May would be good to launch it. People can go out clubbing and partying AFTER BB launch! Plus you will be off school. A bonus for all
