Unsurprisingly: 29 year old grandad doesn't work. The father is 15 - too young to bring in a FT salary to pay for his child.

Another teenage pregnancy that will be funded for by State, and he's got the cheek to say he's incredibly proud of his daughter (for giving birth to a child when she's only 14...FOURTEEN!!! herself).

Unemployed Shem Davies was overjoyed when 14-year-old Tia gave birth to Gracie earlier this month.

Shem and former girlfriend Kelly John, 30, became parents to Tia at the age of 15. Their daughter's boyfriend, Jordan Williams, is 15.

Shem said: 'It is an absolute joy to see Gracie thriving. I'm incredibly proud of Tia. She'll be a brilliant mum. At first I wasn't overly pleased that she was pregnant but I soon got over than. Now it's all about being positive.

It's not even like they can blame the fact that they had no contraception. You can pretty much get free contraception in every chemist and Doctors surgery across the UK. There's no excuse for it really, It's just worrying that this kind of story will probably become and every day story in the next few years, as the people who had children at 15/16 in the 90's, their children will now be reaching that age too.. the generation gap will just continue to shrink.

My mum was 29 when she had me and he's a granddad at the same age.

Mum was 19 and Dad was 23 when they had me. Mum was 21 and Dad was 25 when they had my little brother and now my mum is 36 and my step-dad is 40 and expecting their 1st child together. Mum says that she'd never change anything, but she's handling this pregnancy a lot better as she doesn't have to constantly worry about money etc because she's now got life sorted and house etc. With me and my brother she had nothing really to call her own.

No one is knocking full time mums. I happen to be one of the 'old school' who believe that mum should stay at home till kiddy reaches primary school level.

It is the fact that this girl is still a child herself.... 14 FGS. Father is 15. Not working. Grandfather is 29, not working.

Years ago: this would have been seen as utterly shameful. Now? It's revelled in - with pride.

My 14 year old has given birth: father cannot support her, I don't work and cannot support her.... no problem: the governement will sort them out -give them a house, will pay for the rent and their council tax, give them an allowance to furnish it, baby allowances, child care money and christ knows what else, on top of their JSA or something similar.

it's about time our politicians got hard - and I mean hard with parasites like these.

My parents were 19 and 20. But this was back in the 60's when teenagers were far more mature as far as social and adult responsibilities were concerned.

Both had worked since they were 16, had a wee rented house, got married, then I came along - and they both worked hard for years so they could manage.

I agree that in some cases, parenthood falling later in life offers (or can) offer a far more less worriesome time - most people are settled, financially secure, career and have the materialistic things around them that many of us understandable like to have.

It's the cycle of this 'had a child at 15', child has a child at 14 ..... what's the next generation's story...... had a child at 13? Seems they have learned nothing apart from how to breed .... and now ....how to scrounge.
