Mike Stone, 18, invited Megan Piper to his prom after becoming fed up with having his invites turned down by girls at his school.

After sending over 600 tweets to various adult film stars, the teen received a yes from Megan, as long as he agreed to pay her airfare.

However, he may have to attend the dance alone after all, as his school have prohibited 19-year-old Megan from attending.

Patty Phillips, superintendent of the North St Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District, told Fox News that her appearance would be 'inconsistent' with two district policies relating to having visitors at school buildings and sites.

Speaking to the website Daily Dot, Stone expressed disappointment that he wouldn't have Megan on his arm at the event.

'I was just thinking of doing something new. I was like, let’s try it out and see if it works,' he said.

'I just think they [adult film stars] are really cute and I wish I had one for a prom date.'

However, it seems that Megan is still optimistic she may make it to the event, as she tweeted: 'Does anyone know of really good places to get prom dresses at?'
