Thumbs down Spitting is fine- comments are not?

No idea why Biggins was removed but I am appalled at the general attitude of the whole BB TEAM to the disgusting behaviour of Aubrey, which I found more offensive than anything I've watched. I cannot stand Bear, nor am I imoressed by his demeanour, language and general conduct.
However I am so disappointed that the SPITTING into a person's drink and food was seen by the perpetrator, by her US 'mob Wives' friend, and by presenters as something to be joked about.
I'm more offended by that than by anything else. I seriously considered making a formal complaint.
I firmly believe if any one of the females had been the recipient of this 'joke' , they would have issued BB with a lawsuit.
It turned my stomach. Disgraceful.

Spitting at someone who wants it is hardly ejection worthy

Welcome to the forum!

And yes it's a bizarre set of standards upheld by C5 or Endemol...

Indeed the BB team really are inconsistent and it makes me dread the reaching that happens on this forum (that BB is somehow a reflection of society in general)

can't believe there were only 70 complaints... obviously there was a massive reaction by offended viewers as evinced here and on FB and twitter, but they only quote the numbers of officially phoned in complaints.

the show is in trouble of making fans their enemies, though they'll claim 'success' due to viewing figures where we're still watching to see if things will be 'put right'; the british public do like a morality story with a happy ending.

It is the hate behind the act that I think is the worst part of it. What nation of people don't regard spitting at someone not offensive. She knew exactly what statement it was making and for that she should have been removed.

The sandwich thing wasn't ok but tonight when Bear asked her to do it it's fine, he gave consent. We don't know what Biggins has actually said yet - they could have been really offensive, so could have deserved the ejection. We just don't know yet.

I agree with the OP.

Aubrey herself is a hypocrite as well talking to Marnie about people's comfortable levels being messed around with, when she's probably made the whole house uncomfortable with her preparing their food in case they've pissed her off.

Read the transcript, if it's true is absolutely shocking and he definitely deserved to get ejected

Yeah I agree with this. Personally I find spitting gross but each to there own I guess and consent was given. So it depends on context. It's not that spitting is ok and comments aren't, you have to look at what the individual situations are, and what Biggins' comments were (which we don't know for sure yet so can't really judge).

So in this situation maybe spitting is ok and comments aren't, but in another situation where someone spits aggressively at someone (BB9 anyone?) compared to people making comments that aren't overly offensive, then it would be viewed as comments are fine but spitting isn't.

The comments are going to potentially offended viewers - it goes beyond the house, beyond the show. The spitting is going to offend the victim in the house. There is a difference. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be consequences, but it's apples and oranges from a PR prospective.

Aubrey is really well known in the U.S for being a 'mean girl', widely hated.

if aubrey spat on someone, it would be perceived as physical attack, so then she'll be removed.

she got warning for spitting into food and drink, not at someone.

That is the whole major element to this issue, consent.

That was so vile last night ugh ugh and ugh...to be warned about spitting in food & drink then to be asked to spit in someone's mouth and actually do it! disgusting! and whatever was she thinking ??

Such an awful series really not enjoying it all all Civilian BB was so great and then we have .. this what is supposed to be CBB but sadly most are not celeb's most are just popular on some truly tacky tv shows shameful lineup it has destroyed a great show .. feels more like half the time we are watching one of those god awful geordie shore type shows..

For Biggins to be removed over words yet why hasn't anything been done to renee who was a part of that conversation??? yet people like bear aubrey to still be in there... disgusting...

CBB production team need a kick in arse...

I agree. You can't take back a physical action. Comments however can be exposed and addressed. And that's arguably the best way to deal with them, to undermine them at source. Just stopping people saying something won't stop those thoughts. And if you look at alot of CH5, the tabloids and the way Big Brother has been conducted...they try and foster hatred.
