The coldest weather for years has hit the UK as forecast, bringing heavy snowfalls to many areas and temperatures way below zero degrees, temperatures fell to -12c in many places the 6th coldest ever recorded. Rivers were frozen in across South East England and water pipes have burst from the cold.
Milder conditions look to move in the first half of next week, however Kwik Weather Forecasting Services long range forecasters warn that there is more cold weather to come. Kwik Weather Forecasting Services Rob Howard adds"Temperatures will remain cold throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend, there will be a slight break in the cold snap in the first half of next week but colder conditions will begin to filter down as a Northerly Wind will establish, this second cold snap will bring more significant snow than that last one, however details are are little sketchy at this moment in time" December was offically recorded as a below average month and January temperatures have so far fallen into the catergory of Signifcantly Below average. This brings concern for some as to the reality of whether global warming actually exsists or not. __________ Kwik Weather Forecasting Services is a branch of the "Kwik Weather for Scotland" organisation which has recently been overtaken, the KWFS website is current under a refit and re-opens to the public later this month. you guys think you have it tough, we are having the coldest winter i can remember in my 26 years here in Minnesota, USA....the other night we got as low as -30 F (-34 C) and we had a stretch of 5 days where we never made it over 0 F (-17 C), and this was all before the windchill was factored in which makes it much colder.....add onto that 2+ feet of snow and it was really fun....then again you just get used to it here.

Last week we ran out of gas, and there was a power cut in our area (I was in Abersoch) and when the power came back on, it searged everything and went onto half power It was freezinggg! We were in a chalet too, about 20 yards from the beach xx |
