Default Disney releases their own version of Netflix

Quote:
DisneyLife launches as family-friendly Netflix alternative, will cost £9.99 per month

If a Netflix rival made up solely of Disney content sounds like your dream, you might want to turn your attention to Disney's newly launched streaming service, DisneyLife.

Offering the full-on Disney experienced usually reserved only for those skipping across the pond to a Florida theme park, the subscription-based service will bring thousands of movies, TV shows, albums and books to your connected device.

There is a pretty big caveat to this 'all-encompassing' Disney service though - it's not actually all-encompassing of the Disney world, with Star Wars and Marvel content failing to make the cut - boo.

Instead, subscribers are able to enjoy endless re-runs of all the Toy Story flicks, Disney classics such as Bambi, Lion King and Frozen, as well as Pixar hits such as Up, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc.

It's not all about the animation either; there are a number of live action movies too, with the likes of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise making an appearance. On top of this, there are Disney books for multiple age groups, TV shows and thousands of music tracks.

Accessible online and via dedicated mobile and tablet apps, DisneyLife also lets you push content to the big screen, playing nice with Airplay for Apple TV and Chromecast support.

Despite offering a more brand-centric collection of content than the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime, DisneyLife will cost more than either of the leading streaming players.

With a free one-month trial for all, those keen to stick with the service will need to fork at £9.99 per month for the honour.

Ngl, if they come out with a Playstation/Wii U/Virgin Media app I'm gonna be all over this.

It's only just come out, so far it's only available on tablets, phones and online.

Hhhmmmmm I already have Netflix and Prime so doubt I could justify it, depends what's on it for the kids though so I might try the free month once it's available for Fire TV.
