Default Conor backlash: justified or over the top?

I personally think most of this hate is justified. What he said was completely disgusting and he should be removed from the house when housemates in previous seasons have been removed for much less worse offenses. It's double standards. I do think that people who are calling the police to report Conor are going over the top, though. No problem with people complaining on Ofcom or to Channel 5 but I don't think anyone should be encouraging the police to get involved.

What do you think?

Justified and to the people that think otherwise need to seriously get out of BB's arse imo.

And I will probably get into more trouble for that comment than Conor has by BB.

It's getting a bit ridiculous now. Conor has been given a warning and whilst what he said was horrible - with no applicable justification for it - he's been told. If he does it again, let him sod off to the next reality show an' all.

I don't see why people can't just leave it at that and discuss the actual show in its present form.

Callum you were running the risk there of those who just want to have anyone on for entertainment overwhelming the vote in a negative way.But well done for being so open.

Tricky one. I think he was in the wrong and that BB should have done more than give him a slap on the wrist...but I also think those saying things like 'omgz he threatened to rape her' and that are silly and very OTT. And especially those ringing the police.

I didn't say that I was ringing The Police, im just saying that they would be involved if it happened on the outside world which they would be.

No but some people have actually rang the police over it, they are who I meant

I also dont think the police would be involved if it happened on the outside either..as it was said between a group of friends, who are unlikely to report each other.

I sure hope the people who contacted the police aren't on this forum, otherwise I have a few members to add to my ignore list.

Reporting the incident to the police will not do anything to solve the already resolved issue in a house constantly monitored by people. Whilst Conor should have definitely had the decency to apologise to Deana properly, this is Conor we're talking about. I hope nobody on here was seriously expecting him to get on his knees and buy a pack of chocolates and roses for her...

I do think that it is justified, and I would never condone what he has said, especially as he is in a televised situation. People will make their own opinions, and I respect that. However, I do think some people are taking some things out of context and are exaggerating his actions. If people wish to switch off, or petition, that is their prerogative. Contacting the police etc is a waste of manpower, in my opinion, when more important things need to be addressed.

People can draw their own conclusions, and act in whatever way they deem fit, but some people seem to keep re-iterating their views over and over, when there is no need. Everyone should respect each others views.

Both, the criticism of him and the issue itself is totally justified to be mad about, but in my view the response to BB in general because of this one issue is the bit that's over the top.

Also just seen on DS that some forum members are contacting the Domestic Abuse and Anti-Violence Against Women Charities. Not sure what to make on that, I personally would draw the line at Ofcom. I don't see what good getting all these outside parties involved will achieve.

Now that seems very OTT to me too. I would say let those kinds of organisations deal with real domestic abuse cases...not some off the cuff remark by someone on TV. There has been no violence or anything, and to waste their time with things like this (that will be being monitored anyway by BB...I doubt it would get to the stage where he actually punched her and IF it did he would swiftly be removed and arrested) seems stupid :S

I think those organisations have bigger fish to fry.

Tbf if these are the things that enter his head, whoes to say he hasn't already done these stuff but has never been convicted?

He probably hasn't but it is worrying that that's the first thing to enter his head when he talks about Deana.

That's just speculation again. You can't judge a persons past without facts. That just makes no sense to me.

The backlash is far too OTT imo, yes he was very wrong to say what he did but it in no way makes him a rapist, racist and whatever else he is being called and the complaints to ofcom, police, and now the Domestic Abuse and Anti-Violence charities is just ridiculous, those places have a lot more serious things to deal with than some nasty words someone said on BB tbh.
