With Sam you have to read between the lines, he doesn't like Gina and he made that clear while in the pool!

If she did not have a boyfriend and he respects that fact, he might even let himself fancy her.

When you're partially deaf your speech is affected because you talk like you hear things, therefore missing some sounds out of words so it sounds slurred or like you have a heavy cold sometimes.
