He seems really troubled. He's always seemed trouble for as long as I've been aware of him as a public figure. You don't have that much sex and do that much drink and drugs without fighting some serious demons. I feel sorry for him and I feel bad that he felt pressured into making an announcement about his status, that's nobody's business but his and the people he chooses to have sex with.

No. You're blaming the victim of a crime here. The person leaked a private video without permission here, and should be arrested. By making comments like this you're almost removing guilt from them and placing it to Charlie who did not want the videos to go public.

What crime?. I'm certain no one will be arrested.

It all depends on who owns the video. If Sheens doesnt own the rights to the vid then he doesnt have a leg to stand on. The vid can be shown at the owners discretion and if Sheen doesn't want it to be seen then he has to come to some sort of arrangement with the owner. WHich it looks like he has done. There is no crime here.

It takes two people for a murder to take place as well, perhaps we should blame people killed by terrorist attacks for being in busy places too? Do you see how idiotic this logic is? The guilt for this crime is ENTIRELY on the person who leaked it.

He went to court and paid to have them not leaked, granted he is responsible for the videos being made in the first place, but whoever has leaked them have broken the law and should be suitably punished.

As far as I'm aware, HIV isn't transmitted via saliva so (assuming his mouth wasn't full of open sores) he wasn't really endangering anyone if that's all they did.

If you willingly make a sex tape then you should accept the possibility that the other party may show it to others or leak it. If you don't want it simply don't film yourself having sex which is what most non porn people did before the advent of home film. Hate whiners who whinge " ooo, poor me, I filmed myself having sex with someone, yes having sex on camera and am so shocked that person I slept with showed the film to other people, as films are not meant to watched."

People who are unknowingly filmed for sure are victims. If you know and consent to being filmed, please quit moaning, it's not the same. I think the law should be that if you knowingly take part in sex tape then you run the risk of leaks and footage falling into wrong hands. It's like letting go of a favorite balloon with jewellery attached into the air and then crying that someone nasty like Robert Mugabe or Vladimir Putin has it.

It's against the law to steal someones property, regardless of whether it's a video or anything else. It might have been foolish of him to think it would stay private, but that doesn't change the law, or the fact that if it was stolen, then he is the victim of a crime.

Hmm, I'm not sure, I assumed it was his property because he was granted permission for it not to be leaked wasn't he? I can't imagine he'd be afforded that if he had no rights over it? If that's not the case then fair enough with the Charlie Sheen case (although morally I'm still totally against it) but really I was just speaking generally in response to Alex_Fronts post which was talking about how if people make a video, then they can't complain if someone else gets their hands on it.
