Default (Vote 7PM) Sunak PM Live Rwanda Statement 7th Dec : Legislation (Jenrick Resigns)

Downing St.
talking about his new plan
on illegal migrants

Ref:
[The Supreme Court rules against
the UK government's plan to send
asylum seekers to Rwanda,
saying it's unlawful
It's a major blow to the government's
immigration policy and
PM Rishi Sunak says he will now
consider "next steps"
The government had said the plan
would deter people crossing in
small boats across the Channel
Once in Rwanda,
people could claim asylum there, return home,
or seek asylum in a third country - but not the UK

But Lord Reed, president of the court,
said there was a "real risk" asylum seekers
could be sent from Rwanda to
the places they fled from
Since being announced in 2022,
the plan has been thwarted by
legal challenges but the top UK court
has now ruled against it.]
