Default Cowell drinks away defeat and it seems like Dannii is out in the cold.

DESPITE winning a Special Recognition Award, Simon Cowell looked like he was drowning his sorrows after the National Television Awards last night.

The music mogul appeared to be bitter his X Factor show was defeated by BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing for the Most Popular Talent Show Award.

As the announcement that Strictly had won was made, he was seen mouthing "I can’t believe it" – and sarcastically congratulated the rival show as he collected his own award.

And after the bash had ended he was seen gulping down a bottle of beer for a meal at Mr Chow’s in London’s Knightsbridge – accompanied by fellow X Factor judges Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.

But it seemed there was one person who wasn’t invited – the fourth X Factor judge Dannii Minogue.

That won’t quash rumours of a feud between Dannii and Simon then...

Meanwhile, other partygoers seemed in higher spirits.

The Sun.
