SD is one of the most popular forums so would be foolhardy. Not to mention who are those to try to have it removed when so many like it. Pompous nonsense.

Not really though. Like if Melinda Messenger or Jack Dee or someone was in the news, you wouldn't go putting their thread in the CBB1/CBB2 sections.

I don't see how Gemma Collins filming a skit for Orange Is The New Black has anything to do with her being a Celebrity Big Brother housemate

Plenty of people have objected when people have suggested this before. It sounds to me that what you really want is to get rid of political opinions from the site not popular with you - maybe just have it as a general left wing chat site which is pretty much what it has been for years.

The fact that those not so much to left have been more vocal lately clearly doesn’t sit well with some. It’s callled bringing all views to the table and creating a balance more in line with the general views of the country.

just having doubts if politics should be on a forum like this, that's all
and since admin is not averse to changes, like putting celebrity in SD suggests, maybe it's worth checking how fms feel about SD..?
If it's so liked then there's nothing to be afraid of, Brillo.

It’s not fear - but annoyance at the audacity. We all have a right to a say.

I'm not the first one to make this suggestion. There was a thread few months ago, created by Underscore if I remember correctly.
There was a lot of opposition to SD back then too.

It’s simple isn’t it - if you, underscore or anyone else don’t like SD - then steer clear and leave it to those that do - rather than try to get it removed. Anyone would think that different opinions posed some kind of threat to some.

Only because some people didn't agree with each other , but imo , that is what a forum is all about, adults should be able to debate and disagree without fighting ,insulting and falling out, I , for one have learned a few things from the SD section , I have also seen some bullying on there , by people who cannot get their head around the fact others have a different opinion to them. If you think politics has no place here , you could say the same about all the other sections, ie sport etc afterall it is supposed to be a BB site, so why cant we be tolerant of all subjects even the ones we don't like, but even then we have a choice to bypass those.

I hear you.
But nah, get ha out of an entertainment forum, it only creates negativity and divisions. Instead, as Nicky says, we should relax and have fun

Well, BB yes, but more broadly, it is an entertainment forum.
Sport is entertainment so we should keep it.

So someone who has been on the site for a few months wants to remove a forum that others have enjoyed for considerably longer because it doesn’t apparently fit in with your idea of entertainment. Sounds very reasonable to me!

Also sounds rather dictorial. Is this the former fairly easy-going pleasant two sugars getting all territorial and controlling. Most of these kind of sites have serious discussion forums - for good reason they are popular.

Believe it or not, it was the admirable intellectual quality of this forum's Serious Debate posts which 'drew me in' when I first came across the site 4 years ago.

I browsed the different forums but ended up spending hours reading through serious Debates before joining.

As Cherie says; 'Put it on ignore' and stay off there if you dislike it so much.
