The latest episode was great, was nice to see Mudd again, though, I don't imagine we'll see much more of him (at least this season). I like that the episodes are still some what self contained.

Can already hear the Trekkies going mad over the 'holodeck' appearing, even though it is basically just light projections (notice how they had to take physical guns into the holodeck? Also, they couldn't be physically hit), apparently something similar appeared in The Animated Series, which was also referenced last week, with Robert April (first captain of the Enterprise, before Pike and Kirk) being mentioned as one of the most well known captain's in Starfleet.

Thought it was a great episode, I was prepared to hate Captain Lorca, but he's definitely been through a lot of ****, feel sorry for the Admiral he pretty much sent to their death.

I'm liking Sarek's appearances, I've always thought he was a pretty interesting character, especially in TNG when Picard had to mind meld with him.

Seems like we will be seeing more of the bridge from next episode on

Thought it was an interesting character development, in that episode, how Lorca sent the Admiral to be captured so that he kept command of the ship.

I think that was the episode I spotted what he was doing right away.

I wondered in the prison episode if he was being a bit stupid trusting Tyler so quickly. But it looks like is messed up from the torture, and not a double-agent.

I had been waiting to see what the outcome is of using the spore drive, because we know it doesn't exist in Starfleet in future series, assuming they are sticking to the same storyline.

True, I remember once we had to wait 6 months for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection after America got it, usually the delay is because of localisation for Europe... but it was an old game! It didn't need localisation!

The show feels much more stable now they're in the mirror universe, I wonder if the first half was actually what remained of Bryan Fuller's vision for the show? Now it seems to have actual direction and the characters are really coming into their own. The tie in with The Original Series and Enterprise, with the Defiant is awesome too, I'm hoping we actually get to see the modified Constitution class

Sources say the decision to oust Berg and Harberts was based not on the creative but instead for leadership and operational issues. Production on Discovery's first five episodes of season two are near completion, with Kurtzman likely taking over for episode six and beyond. Berg and Harberts, who were longtime collaborators with original showrunner Fuller, will likely still be credited on the episodes they oversaw. Sources say the budget for the season two premiere ballooned, with the overages expected to come out of subsequent episodes from Discovery's sophomore run. Insiders also stress that Berg and Harberts became increasingly abusive to the Discovery writing staff, with Harberts said to have leaned across the writers room table while shouting an expletive at a member of the show's staff. Multiple writers are said to have been uncomfortable working on the series and had threatened to file a complaint with human resources or quit the series altogether before informing Kurtzman of the issues surrounding Berg and Harberts. After hearing rumors of HR complaints, Harberts is said to have threatened the staff to keep concerns with the production an internal matter.

At first I was like "but why?" but after reading what the past showrunners were like behind the scenes, they can feck off, plus Alex Kurtzman is a decent showrunner.

I like this show, but it definitely showed teething problems in it's first season.

In particular I'd definitely try and get a strong male character into the programme as it just looks unrealistic that there's no high up male characters in the main cast, and I'd also not try and give Michael Main Character Syndrome, she was better when she was more cold.

I think tbh that they need a couple of new male characters that will be important to the programme whilst remaining likeable and interesting. The non-mirror Lorca just doesn't sound as interesting as the Lorca that we had in season 1.

I think S1 suffered from Bryan Fuller leaving halfway through, lets just hope S2 doesn't suffer the same fate. That said, I wonder if the two who were fired actually made Fullers work worse, apparently
