Kane is one of the best characters in the show really.

Sadly his role seemed a bit reduced in S5, as I think he has other things / other roles that he's working on; he's still in most episodes, but he doesn't get a huge number of scenes in the second half of the season, and although he's been announced as back for S6 they've obviously written in his life-threatening injuries / being kept in Cryosleep to accomodate him maybe still not being hugely active for a while. I'm thinking maybe next season he'll be mostly absent for the first half (only seeing him in his cryopod) and then an active role in the second half. I'm just glad he hasn't left completely... I was a bit worried when Vinson turned him into a pincushion
