Default Waterstones buys Foyles in fightback against 'Amazon's siren call'

[The deal will help Waterstones champion real bookshops in the face of the threat from online retailers and e-books, the firm says.
The decision to buy Foyles will help Waterstones cement its position as something of a "heritage" bookselling group.
Foyles was established in 1903 by teenage brothers Wiillam and Gilbert, who failed their civil service entrance exams and wanted to resell their textbooks.]

Well done Saving good old Foyles.
