Ideally it’d be given to another channel but that’s unlikely
Also would be nice if Ben Frow dropped dead on launch but hey ho |

could be an ideal way to announce the show being renewed for emma or rylan to announce at the end of the launch show, or awkward if they announce it being axed

Either way it’s still turned to good marketing ‘ the last series did so well our long lasting tv show lives to see more years to come!’ Or ‘ this is the last series ever so get watching!!’

Ugh I don't think it being announced the day of launch bodes well but maybe I'm overthinking it. I can see them trying to make a big deal of it to try and get people to tune in tonight.

I don’t think it being picked up by someone else is unlikely at all

I just can't see anyone else being interested in taking it on at all. At least not for a good few years. The bigger channels either have something similar and more successful already or wouldn't want to tarnish their reputation by taking on the show, and the smaller channels wouldn't be able to afford it if Channel 5 weren't making much money from it.
I suppose the best hope would be for it to go online, but again, would it get the kind of viewership needed to justify the cost? |

Presumptious of C5 to announce the "final" series of Big Brother.
Channel 4 did that too. A plague on both their networks. |

Endemol statement:
“We are incredibly proud of Big Brother which has consistently been the highest rated show for Channel 5 over the past seven years,” it said. “Big Brother continues to be a global phenomenon. The UK is one of 20 countries where the show will air in 2018, including the U.S. where Celebrity Big Brother was recently renewed, four different versions in India and last month’s Celebrity Big Brother in Germany which saw a rise of 85% series on series. Whilst disappointed not to reach an agreement with Channel 5 the decision opens up a new chapter and we are excited about future possibilities for Big Brother in the UK.” https://deadline.com/2018/09/big-bro...ne-1202464558/ Last edited by BBDodge; 14-09-2018 at 11:17 AM. |
