There was no reasonable way he was going to get away with any of it until Dr Nicky was framed, because at that point they stopped investigating it seems... but the P.I. is clearly still going to have an eye on him.

That said I think (and have seen interviews with the author / show writers) you are supposed to sort of root for Joe, even though he is objectively a violent sociopath. He's supposed to be a likeable character who unfortunately is psychotically jealous and stalkery and kills people .

Paco at least will grow up to be a violent sociopath so the series has longevity

and Candice has a much better bod than Beck so hopes for the new series are high

I just did not like crazy people being put in the same place as all the lovely books, the vile Beck used a classic as a loo cover - call herself a lover of books, the tramp

It was a bit of a plot hole, I mean... the books would have been fine being taken out for a few days... he didn't need to leave them in there any of the times there were... umm... guests.

Really? Oh god no, he absolutely doesn't come across as likeable in any way. If they were trying to emulate Dexter in that way then they failed miserably (except with Lt ) Dexter had a code, he didn't go round stalking people because he fancied them or stealing their underwear etc The people that Dexter focused on were actual murderers who'd gotten away with it

Dexter did not know how to expertly rebind books

Not emulate Dexter but still Dexter-inspired... like an incompetent Dexter with no code .

Basically, imagine that instead of being raised by an experienced detective who knew how to cover up a crime and had a solid moral code, Dexter had been raised by an abusive book shop owner. That's how you end up with Joe . Important to remember that Dexter didn't kill people BECAUSE they were murderers, he killed people because it was the only way to satisfy the uncontrollable urge to kill, and so he sought out murderers as his victims because that was better than trying to resist completely (as he couldn't, and WOULD have ended up killing innocent people).

Regardless, I doubt Dexter would have turned into a creepy knicker sniffing stalker like Joe Also, Joe killed people when he backed himself into a corner, none of them were actually planned

Funnily enough though... Joe would be Dexter's exact target . Crossover episode where Dexter tries to kill Joe (but doesn't manage to, because Joe clearly has his luck stat set to 10)

I think you could argue that Benji was (somewhat) planned, just not thought through. The rest were definitely more impulse kills, he even tried to declare Peach's death "self-defence". Though TBF Peach was clearly intended as the only-marginally-more-sane female counterpart to Joe and probably had some Beck underwear stashed somewhere too .

I'd watch that but only if Dexter succeeded

Benji was kind of planned but I still think Joe would have let him go if he was sure he wouldn't get caught out

I think he was fairly content with the video evidence of the drowning being enough to keep him safe, but he got the idea in his head that (ironically) Beck wasn't "safe" with Benji around, though probably the real motivation was that he didn't think Beck would move on if Benji was still kicking around, even if he broke contact with her.

Oh yes another major difference between Dexter and Joe, Dexter was very self aware, Joe is not

I enjoyed this. So many questions though. What happened with the pot of wee, wasn't there going to be DNA tested at the house where Peach died idk

Just finished.

Jesus christ this got worse as it went on. So many plotholes and ridiculous characterisations. It wasn't by any means a terrible show but it was very... 'Lifetime'. Which is fitting since that's where it aired, first

I'd give the season a 5/10.

Ok finally finished this and I LOVED it. I was genuinely shook @ Beck's death and when there was an extra cage at the top of the stairs and then Paco abandoned her

Has anyone finished season 2 yet? I’ve just got 2 episodes to go.

This season is just as good as the first, full of twists and you never know where the plot is going. Very easy to watch. It’s an easy to watch show and if you don’t take it too seriously it’s brilliant.

The use of a new girl and Candace makes it more exciting than the first series imo.
