I’m not and wouldn’t say for a second that all Leavers are racist but there are a hell of a lot of racists who voted leave.
I am not defensive about the way I voted. I voted to leave, and the EU's open border policy was one of the reasons. Do you know what the population is in this country now? And what it might be in ten years?

I am for controlled immigration, if it wasn't for immigrants this country couldn't function. I'm the descendant of immigrants. What I am against is the EU's decision to let anyone in. Canada doesn't do it, neither does the US, nor Australia... they have a system based on what people can offer the country and I see now reason to think they're all racist. They have a proper system for admitting refugees too, just like we have.

There are vile people amongst those who voted to leave. There are vile people amongst those who voted to stay. This is not a black and white, they're racist and I'm not issue, it's much more complicated than that.

It says that this is on video, is there any footage of this video? because I've never heard of this story before, and would like to see this for myself.

No Jon Snow seems to have done that.

I think the main issue people who complained would have had was hearing him make snidey comments to try and imply that having a group of mainly white people marching for Brexit is a negative thing.Inserting his predjudice into a news item.
Basically showing a remain bias.
People just don’t wanna listen to that when they watch news.

I wouldn’t have complained if i’d heard it.I’d have just laughed and thought ‘what a dick’ and forgotten about it.

And what makes you think getting out of the EU will change things?
The non-EU immigrations has always been fully under British control and what? It has kept on increasing year on year.
Not to mention it's all very well getting out of the EU directives but how do you know the much praised free trade agreements won't depend on immigration exemptions for e.g India or China? India has been grumbling for years about the issue.

True. But the point is,We can choose whether to accept those trade deals with individual countries and negotiate ourselves. We might decide that it’s beneficial to have FoM from a certain country. But it’s up to our government.
As a Single Market member we don’t have much choice on which countries we allow FoM to.
Some control vs hardly any control.

We won't have that much choice after sticking our bum at the EU.
Our negotiating position will be very poor.
That's where being in a block makes sense.
And how do you explain the UK government has been unable to control the non-EU immigration all these years? What gives you the confidence they'll be able to control it bc we left the EU?

Not to mention losing the freedom of working and living all over Europe.
EU immigration is only temporary anyway. As the Eastern European countries get richer and catch up with the West the movement will cease. It may even reverse. But Britain won't take advantage of that, sadly.

I wouldn’t say our governments were UNABLE to control non-EU immigration but more unwilling.
The immigration issue only came to major prominence when the numbers had increased massively giving rise to the BNP.That’s when the government started listening as they were worried about the prospect of the far right gaining popularity(and wanted to gain public support).
Blair and Brown basically had an almost open door policy.
If it had have been sensibly controlled earlier on then it wouldn’t be such an issue today.

Non EU immigration has always been higher than EU immigration. The world is much bigger than Eastern Europe.
Cameron did actually get it down for a while when it was his priority. The Tories then gave up on their tens of thousands target as it was unrealistic.
EU immigration went up to almost level pegging before the referendum. After that the Europeans started leaving.
Most leavers just want the country to be able to control all immigration.
EU migration may not actually go down but that would be up to our government.

I'm closing this for now to clean it.

I'm so sick of the same members constant trolling and baiting in this section so expect infractions and bans to be handed out if it continues.
