But Lexi's entire existence/purpose in the show has always been the Mitchell's.

I've realised though, everyone talks about the show needing storylines! Great stories!

It does but a lot of the time the storylines are fine, it's the characters that are useless.

So, currently the Sharon/Keanu stuff would be so much better if Keanu was a good character. But he's so uninteresting. Imagine the Dennis Rickman plot but without Dennis Rickman, with a wet lettuce of a character, it wouldn't work.

Similarly, this stuff with Louise being involved in it is subjectively a good idea. But Louise is so horribly written and acted it doesn't work.

Yeah but that's not really the point. That baggage still played its part in the story.

There's always going to be useless characters, smaller characters and characters we don't really like. But the main players need to at least look believable in the role they're playing. Louise and Keanu really don't.

I had no trouble believe Zoe was a whining cow and Den was a dirty old man.

Well that’s what it is I wish I didn’t have my dads name as I have nothing to do with him but he’s the dad on my birth certificate so legally I have his surname, I don’t know many people who take their mothers name do you?

she isn't exec producer of eastenders, she has a boss to answer to

plus i think eastenders bcos of the BBC, more so the last few years are more P.C than corrie, especially these days

i wish they'd give kate oates full control because she was so daring on coronation street and brilliant

She isnt even in control of the show fully she is overlooking the actual producer and can give her input or change what she likes and also has final say on everything that happens.

No. The other way around. She doesn't have full control, because she is the higher tier boss overseeing multiple shows.

John Sen is running the show, he answers to Kate Oates.

So Kate Oates is not making most of the decisions. Much like John Yorke the last 18 months, she'll just be approving storylines, casting new characters, etc. She won't be very hands on with running the show.
