The dog who plays Brad Pitt's character's dog Brandy in the movie has won the "Palm Dog" award/collar today in Cannes! Bless! Apparently, Brandy is involved in the "big show down" at the end of the movie, probably in a QT self-reference to that horrible scene in Django maybe?

Hopefully!! It's definitely looking like it's more an Academy/American favourite rather than an artsy Cannes favourite so Oscars/Golden Globes and even BAFTAs I can see it doing very well.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Is ‘A Celebration Of Sharon Tate’s Life’, Says Margot Robbie

For his last few flicks, Quentin Tarantino has turned somewhat historical – heading back to the Second World War, and Civil War-era America. But for his latest, he’s revisiting a more recent era: the end of Hollywood's Golden Age. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sees QT recreate the L.A. of his youth, conjuring the summer of ’69. Wandering through this Tarantino-ised vision of the film industry will be a mix of fictional and non-fictional characters – from Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as the made-up aspiring actor Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth, respectively, to Margot Robbie playing real-life actor Sharon Tate, who starred in a number of films through the ‘60s before her untimely death at the hands of the Manson Family cult.

While the film is said to incorporate the Manson murders in some way, Robbie tells the upcoming new issue of Empire that the film is a ‘celebration’ of the hippy icon.

“Sharon embodies the best parts of the ‘60s,” Robbie tells Empire. “This is a celebration of her life. And you get a lot of hang time with her in this film.” The actor also revealed that she wore a pair of earrings and a ring that originally belonged to Tate during filming, lent to her by Sharon’s younger sister Debra. “I guess it sounds like I’m being a bit spiritual or whatever, but it really did help me ground the character in something real,” she says. “I wanted to honor her memory and bring the best parts of Sharon forward. And I found it really quite moving to have a piece of her with me.”

There’s reportedly a big Hollywood red carpet Premiere being planned at the Dolby Theatre a few days before the American release with a rumoured after party at The Playboy Mansion. Amazing!

As of now (June 27) this movie still has phenomenal scorings on critics sites:

On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 92% based on 65 reviews, with an average rating of 8.19/10.

Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 88 out of 100, based on 18 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".

92% from 65 reviews is insane. Be interesting to see how it changes in a few weeks.

So yano how QT said he's stopping after 10 movies? Well, he's changed his tune and it now sounds like OUATIH will be his last "big movie".

"I think when it comes to theatrical movies, I've come to the end of the road. I see myself writing books and starting to write theatre, so I'll still be creative. I just think I've given all I have to give to movies."

"Well, um, if it's [OUATIH] really well received, maybe I won't go to 10. Maybe I'll stop right now! Maybe I'll stop while I'm ahead. We'll see."

Pitt commented:

"No, I don't think he's bluffing at all. I think he's dead serious. And I kind of openly lament that to him, but he understands the math of when he feels like directors start falling off their game. But he has other plans and we're not going to have to say goodbye for a long time."
